A guided visit to the TCV tokamak at SPC is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 30th, afternoon.
Attendees are kindly asked to gather outside of the TCV building, North entrance, at 2:20pm. Visits will start at 2:30pm.
The visit will also include the TORPEX and POLARIS experiments.

How to get there:
The TCV tokamak is located at the Swiss Plasma Center, on the EPFL campus.
The EPFL campus is easily accessible via public transport. The site is served by the M1 metro line, as well as by buses 1, 31, 701, 705 depending on your starting location.
From around the Lausanne rail station or Lausanne city centre:
- By bus (about 25 minutes)
- TL bus #1, direct route towards EPFL/Colladon, stop at the terminus
- Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:40 p.m.
- By metro – via Le Flon (about 20 minutes)
- M2 towards Croisettes, get off at Lausanne-Flon
- M1 metro from the Flon or Vigie stops towards Renens gare : EPFL stop
From the Renens rail station:
- By bus (about 11 minutes)
- TL bus 31 at Renens gare sud stop towards Venoge sud : UNIL-Sorge stop or Argand stop
- TL bus 31 at Renens gare sud stop towards Venoge sud : UNIL-Sorge stop or Argand stop
- By metro (about 6 minutes)
- M1 metro towards Lausanne-Flon : EPFL stop
From the Beaulieu Conference Center:
SPC/LOC members are happy to share the ride with participants directly from the Beaulieu Conference Center!
Meeting point: entrance of the Center at 13:00 after the end of the last morning session.
Options:
- If you want to walk a bit: That would be ~20 minutes of exercise to the Vigie Metro 1 station. (Good for your podometer! And it’s all down-hill). Once exiting the Beaulieu site, turn left to Av. Bergières. Keep walking for ~300 meters. Then head down to your right to Av. Beaulieu, about 500m. Cross the bridge of Chauderon (and enjoy the view). Right at the end of the bridge, take the elevator down to the Vigie Metro station. Form there:
- M1 metro towards Renens gare : EPFL stop
